Meet Karen Dowell, the creative heart behind Mama D’s Creative Crafts! Karen’s journey into crafting began as she transitioned into retirement and rediscovered just how much joy creativity brings to her life. After stepping away from the busy pace of full-time work, she found herself drawn back to the arts and excited to explore new ideas, techniques, and projects.
Karen loves experimenting with different materials, especially glassware and painting, often incorporating beautiful floral themes into her work. One of her favorite things to create and teach is holiday décor and glass painting, where she can combine creativity with seasonal charm. Her style is all about making pieces that are fun, bright, and bring a little extra beauty into everyday life.
Being part of The 815 Artisan Collective was a natural fit for Karen. She was excited to join a group where makers can teach, share their talents, and help each other grow. Community and creativity go hand in hand for her, and she loves being surrounded by other artists who support and inspire one another.
When people see or use Karen’s creations her biggest hope is simple: that it makes them happy. She loves helping others discover the joy of creating something with their own hands and sharing that sense of accomplishment and fun.
Through her booth, Karen is excited to bring creativity to the community and encourage others to explore their own artistic side. You’ll quickly see that Mama D’s Creative Crafts is all about joy, creativity, and sharing the love of making.
