Kyrie’s Kitties Crochet

Help us welcome Sheila Kruse, the creative maker behind Kyrie’s Kitties Crochet, to The 815 Artisan Collective!

Sheila’s crochet journey began when her grandmother taught her the craft at a young age. What started as a comforting hobby during tough times has grown into a full-blown passion. Today, Sheila proudly describes herself as a yarn-obsessed crochet addict who loves creating beautiful, cozy pieces and sharing that same warm, happy feeling with others through her work.

Sheila was drawn to The 815 Artisan Collective because of its focus on building community—bringing local artists together, supporting small businesses, and creating a welcoming space where creativity and connection thrive.

If you’re someone who is always cold, Sheila has you covered! She specializes in warm, practical pieces like cowls, scarves, shawls, wraps, ear warmers, and hats, along with everyday essentials like coasters, washcloths, wristlets, scrunchies, and keychains. Her favorite pieces to create are Tunisian crochet shawls, known for their incredible comfort, drape, and beauty.

Sheila loves working with natural fibers—especially soft, warm wools and unique materials like New Zealand possum fiber—and often finds herself returning to Tunisian crochet when she wants to explore something new.

When she’s not crocheting, Sheila enjoys hunting for the perfect yarn and meeting fellow makers along the way. You can often find her at A Skein Away in Roscoe, IL, or at local markets and craft fairs, which she announces on social media.

Be sure to follow Sheila online at @kyrieskitties on Instagram and Facebook, and you can also shop her work on Amazon Handmade by searching for Kyrie’s Kitties.

Stop by the collective to see Sheila’s cozy creations in person—we’re so excited to have her as part of our maker family!
