Please help us welcome Chasity of Granny’s Soap to The 815 Artisan Collective!
Granny’s Soap is truly a family business, with knowledge and traditions being passed from one generation to the next.
The business was originally started by Chasity’s mom, who made goat milk soap using milk from her own goats. As a full-time nurse, she eventually found herself with less time to devote to creating, but she wasn’t ready to see Granny’s Soap come to an end. So she taught Chasity how to make soap and shared the knowledge she had gathered over the years about herbs and their traditional uses.
Now Chasity and her daughter are carrying that tradition forward together! They spend time studying and foraging, growing and drying herbs, experimenting with herbal blends, and creating handmade soaps, salves, essential oil rollers, and other natural products.
One of Chasity’s favorite products to make is her Comfrey Salve. She grows the comfrey herself—and apparently it’s VERY happy where it lives because it grows and spreads prolifically! Once harvested and dried, it becomes part of the handmade salves she creates.
A creative day for Chasity might start with a batch of soap and quickly turn into making salves while she waits, creating labels, researching new recipes, working with herbs, and somehow squeezing in photos, videos, and social media along the way.
What we especially love about Granny’s Soap is the connection between generations. Chasity learned from her mom, and now she’s learning and creating alongside her own daughter. They even try to grow or forage many of the herbs they use themselves.
For Chasity, it’s all about learning, creating, and sharing while keeping ingredients simple and products thoughtfully handmade.
We’re so happy Granny’s Soap has found a home at The Collective. Stop in to explore their goat milk soaps, herbal creations, and other natural products, and help us give Chasity and her family a warm welcome to The 815 Artisan Collective!
