Please help us welcome Heather of Forest City Harvest to The 815 Artisan Collective!
Forest City Harvest started with something many handmade businesses begin with—a mom looking for a product she felt good about using with her own family.
As a stay-at-home mom to her little boy, Beckham, Heather became more conscious of the ingredients in the products her family was using every day. She wanted simple skincare options that worked well for them, especially when it came to her son’s sensitive skin.
Heather’s mom had been using tallow products for years and was always talking about how much she loved them. After Heather tried a tallow lip balm from another maker, curiosity took over. She decided to experiment with making her own, and what started as a “let’s see if I can do this” project quickly became something she genuinely loved creating.
Today, tallow products have become a favorite in Heather’s own home, and Forest City Harvest gives her the opportunity to share what she creates with other families.
There’s also a special connection that makes having Forest City Harvest at The Collective even more exciting—Heather is originally from Belvidere! Her parents still live here, and when she heard about The 815 Artisan Collective, she was excited to see something like it happening in her hometown. In fact, she was recommending The Collective to other makers before she even became a vendor herself!
For Heather, one of the most rewarding parts of being a maker is hearing from customers who are happy with what they’ve found. She loves the entire process of creating her products, but helping someone discover something that works well for their own skincare routine makes it even better.
You may have already discovered Forest City Harvest at the North End City Market or Oregon Farmers Market, and now you can find Heather’s handcrafted tallow products right here in downtown Belvidere, too!
Stop in, discover Forest City Harvest, and help us welcome Heather back to her hometown as one of the newest makers at The 815 Artisan Collective!
