Whether they enjoy painting, drawing, building, or simply creating alongside others, this open studio time is all about creativity, community, and having fun in a welcoming environment. Parents are welcome to stay and craft alongside their child or relax while they create. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create a soft, chunky blanket using only your hands — no knitting needles required. We’ll walk step-by-step through the basics, including casting on, creating hand-knit stitches, and binding off. This workshop is perfect for beginners, but also fun for anyone who wants to try a new creative technique. By the end, you’ll leave with a finished (or nearly finished) blanket and the skills and confidence to keep hand knitting on your own. Using luxurious, oversized yarn, you’ll create a beautiful blanket that adds warmth and style to any space — perfect for your home or as a heartfelt handmade gift. It’s a relaxed, welcoming environment, so bring a friend and enjoy a cozy time creating together! Materials (to bring with you): Please purchase your yarn prior to workshop. You will need: 5 skeins of Yarn Bee Eternal Bliss Yarn (available at Hobby Lobby) Tip: Watch the sales — this yarn is often 30% off every other week! You may choose 1 or 2 colors. If using 2 colors: purchase 3 skeins of your main color and 2 skeins of your accent color.
