Michelle has always been a maker—the kind of person who sees a new craft and immediately thinks, “I wonder if I can make that!” What began with sewing has grown into a creative business filled with laser-cut designs, personalized gifts, hands-on projects, and plenty of opportunities to turn an idea into something completely unique.
But Michelle’s creative story is about more than what she makes. After operating an in-home daycare for about 16 years, she decided it was time to find a creative outlet of her own. With encouragement from her husband and kids, she went back to college and finished the Graphic Design degree she had started 28 years earlier! As Michelle puts it, she’s living proof that it’s never too late to dream a new dream.
Customization is at the heart of Blanche Elaine Customs. Michelle loves taking something you might find anywhere and adding that little extra touch that makes it personal. She especially enjoys helping customers bring their own ideas to life—even when the idea starts with nothing more than, “What if we could…?”
And she doesn’t just want to make things for people—she loves helping people discover that they can create, too! Her Make & Take projects are one of her favorite parts of being a maker, especially when she gets to work with kids. Christmas ornaments hold an extra-special place in her heart because she knows those handmade creations may hang on a family’s tree for years to come.
Michelle hopes to bring that same experience to The Collective. A chance to sit down, forget about the laundry, dishes, schedules, and everything waiting at home, and simply make something and have fun for a little while.
When she’s creating at home, you can usually find her bouncing between her craft room and the garage where her laser lives, coffee in hand, stain on her clothes, sawdust in her hair, and two dogs following closely behind!
